It is good to look for programs that offer courses that not only teach you about the profession, but also is strong in English grammar, pharmacology, physiology and anatomy. They should also provide you with tons of practice dictation tapes from health professionals and doctors. You should also do research online to find out about the different courses and what you should expect if you do plan on taking on of these many courses.

There are ads plastered in newspapers, magazines, grocery stores and bookstores about doing medical transcription from your home. The pay is often advertised as substantial to be working at home. Some places state you can make up to $50,000 from working at home. This is quite possible, however they get people with this as it is hard for someone to make this, especially working from home. There are individuals who work from home and make this, but they went through a process to get to that level. In this industry once you get the training then you need to actually go and look for work, you are the one responsible for finding the job.
